A gate needs a heavier post
A walk gate up to 4' hangs on a 2-3/8" terminal post. A wider gate or a double drive gate swings more weight on its hinges, so it hangs on a 2-7/8" gate post set deeper in concrete. Use the hinges and the latch for the 2-7/8" size.
