Production proces of wire fence

The production of welded wire fence panels involves a series of well-defined steps to ensure the final product is strong, durable, and meets the required specifications. The process generally includes the following stages:

  1. Material selection: The first step is selecting the appropriate wire material. All our fence panels are made from wire rod esspecially chosen for its strength and durability. The wire can come in various thicknesses (gauges), depending on the desired strength and application of the fence panel.

  2. Wire drawing: All the wires undergo a drawing process. This process involves cleaning the wire before reducing it and double bending to remove the scale of the wirerod. After that we reduce the diameter and wind the wire on a spool.

  3. Making the galvanized wire: The spools with bright wire are getting unwinded and the wire enters several cleaning and flux baths before getting the zinq layer.The primary step in the galvanization process is hot-dip galvanizing. The cleaned and fluxed wire is submerged in a bath of molten zinc, typically at a temperature of around 450°C (842°F). The zinc reacts with the steel to form a series of zinc-iron alloy layers, topped by a layer of pure zinc. Finally, the finished galvanized wire is spooled again on spools which are used for our welding machines.

  4. Welding Process: Before the galvanized wires enter the welding stage the wires get double straightened to have the flattest fence panels. The horizontal and vertical wires are then welded together at each intersection using our fully automated welding machines. After welding the wire panels are stacked by robots in different pack sizes.

  5. Quality Inspection: After welding, each panel is inspected for any defects. This includes checking for proper alignment, consistent welding, and absence of any weak spots or breaks in the welds.

  6. Finishing Treatments: Once the panels pass the quality inspection, they undergo finishing treatments. Powder coating is the most popular finishing treatment, which not only adds another layer of protection but also provides aesthetic appeal with different color options. At Fenceweb we have 4 standard colors: Black, Antracite and 2 colors of Green but we can do all specials colors of wire fence on request. An other treatment we do is hot dip galvanizing the welded panel after welding. Ask our customer service for the possibilities.

  7. Packing and Shipping: Finally, the fence panels are packed and prepared for shipping. This includes stacking, binding, and sometimes wrapping the panels to prevent damage during transportation. We also ship certain wire panels on special racks to ship them worldwide.
