Gatemaster Superlock 2.0 RapidReset quick exit: update codes in seconds
A secure solution that does not compromise on speed or simplicity, this Superlock model is designed for controlled entry and quick, easy exits. Outside, a RapidReset mechanical keypad controls entry; inside, a low-profile push pad gives a smooth, intuitive exit.
RapidReset
Traditional keypad gate locks have to be removed from the gate to change the entry code. RapidReset allows tool-free code changes in about ten seconds without taking the lock off the gate, so the code can keep up with changing security needs. The keypad is mechanical and needs no power.
Sizes and warranty
Versions are made for 3/8" to 1-3/16" and 1-9/16" to 2-3/8" gate frames. Gatemaster gives a 5-year warranty on the Superlock 2.0 range. Certain features are protected under European Patent No. 3354825.
Installation
Check the handing of the gate first. To fit, drill two 3/8" holes at 5-1/2" centers for the fixing bolts and an 11/16" clearance hole for the latchbolt, then bolt the lock on and fix the strike plate to the gate post by welding or with screws.

Frequently asked questions
Will it survive outdoors all year?
It is built for it. The bodies are pressure die-cast and powder-coated, latchbolts are stainless steel and the keypads are marine grade, so salt air and rain are not a problem. Follow the maintenance schedule on this page - a spray of light oil a few times a year is what keeps a gate lock feeling new after a decade outside.
What warranty comes with this product?
Gatemaster gives a 5-year warranty on the Superlock 2.0 range and a manufacturer's warranty on the rest of the program, covering defects in material and workmanship. Keep your invoice: that is the proof of purchase a claim is assessed on. Damage from forcing, from the wrong installation or from missed maintenance is not covered - which is why the maintenance schedule on this page is worth following.
Is this in stock and how fast can I get it?
Gatemaster hardware is part of our standard program, so the common versions ship from stock. If you need a quantity for a project, or you are not sure which version fits your gate, ask us for a quote - we will check the frame size and handing with you before anything is picked.
How fast can I change the code on a RapidReset model?
In about ten seconds, without taking the lock off the gate and without tools. That matters where the code has to change often - a building site, a holiday let, a shared bin store or after a contractor leaves. The mechanism stays mechanical, so there is still nothing to power or charge.
Does this code lock need power or batteries?
No. The keypad is fully mechanical, so there is no wiring, no batteries and nothing to replace. That is what makes it suitable for gates at the far end of a site, allotments, bin stores and anywhere a cable run would be impractical - and it keeps working in a power cut.
How do I know whether I need a left-hand or a right-hand lock?
Stand on the outside of the gate - the side you approach from. If the hinges are on your left, you need a left-hand lock; if they are on your right, a right-hand lock. Gatemaster locks in this range are reversible: you loosen the locking screw in the end of the latchbolt with the 1/8" hex key supplied, turn the bolt through 180 degrees and tighten it again.
Which version fits my gate frame?
Measure the depth of the gate frame, the box section or flat bar the lock bolts onto. Versions are made for 3/8" to 1-3/16" and 1-9/16" to 2-3/8" frames. Pick the version that matches your frame; a lock made for a deeper frame will not sit flush on a shallow one. The product codes are BQDGRR1030 and BQDGRR4060.
