Highlights

Two materials, one post
Aluminum and composite slats slide into the same aluminum posts, so you can mix them in one run.

Laser-cut panels
Seven decorative aluminum designs, from Epure to Verdi, framed into the same bay as the slats.

Slide-in assembly
Slats drop into the post grooves from the top; rails, profiles and caps finish every bay.

No stain, no rust
Powder-coated aluminum and composite need nothing more than a yearly rinse.
The Gardenode Equinox fence system
Equinox is Gardenode's slat fence. Aluminum posts with grooves carry the fence; slats slide in from the top and stack into a closed, louvered or open screen. A bottom rail sets the first slat, a top rail closes the bay 1-3/16" below the top of the post, and a cap finishes each post. Twelve solid slats make a bay about 70-7/8" tall, and the posts stand 72-7/8" apart on center.
Aluminum or composite
Aluminum slats are powder coated and need no reinforcement. Composite slats combine wood fiber and polyethylene in a brushed, wood grain or co-extruded finish; according to Gardenode, its composite is approximately 90% recycled material. A galvanized steel brace goes into every third solid composite slat and into every composite louver and openwork slat. Both materials are 13/16" thick and fit the same posts.
Solid, louver, openwork or decorative
Solid slats close the view completely. Louver slats are angled, so air passes while the view stays blocked. Openwork slats are held 5/8" apart by spacers for a lighter screen. A laser-cut decorative panel, in seven designs, replaces two solid slats in a framing kit, or stands upright between two posts.
Posts and mounting
The 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" post is Gardenode's top-of-the-range post, in lengths up to 10'6", and comes with a cap and a clip; the lighter 2-3/4" x 2" post comes with a clip. Set posts in concrete in a hole about 15-3/4" square and 19-5/8" deep, adjusted to your soil. On a slab or low wall, bolt them to a steel base plate and keep the fence to 63" for wind load. Above 70-7/8", Gardenode recommends an insert in the post.
Corners and slopes
A 90 degree corner uses the same post. Between 45 and 135 degrees, the variable angle profile clips onto the post and sets the angle. On sloping ground, adjusting blocks under the bottom rail step the fence with the grade.
Gates and privacy kits
The Equinox garden gate has the frame colors and composite slats of the fence, 39-3/8" or 47-1/4" wide and 63", 68-7/8" or 74-3/4" tall, and hangs on its own 3-7/8" aluminum gate post. For a welded wire fence that is already standing, the Solstice privacy kit fills an 8'2" double wire panel with composite slats, held by UPKOS hook panels under an aluminum top rail.
Care
Clean the fence once a year with a sponge and clean water, and skip the pressure washer. New composite can show light marks after the first rains; that is dust from production and it washes away.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Gardenode Equinox fence system?
A modular slat fence: aluminum posts with grooves, slats that slide in from the top, and rails, profiles and caps that finish each bay. Slats come in aluminum and composite, in solid, louver and openwork styles, plus laser-cut aluminum panels.
Can I mix aluminum and composite slats?
Yes. Both are 70-7/8" long and 13/16" thick and slide into the same posts, so you can combine them in one bay or change from bay to bay.
How far apart are the posts?
72-7/8" on center. Every slat is 70-7/8" long and spans exactly one bay.
How deep do the posts go?
Gardenode's guide is a hole about 15-3/4" square and 19-5/8" deep, filled with concrete that is not too wet. Your soil and local frost depth decide the final depth.
Can I install Gardenode on a patio or low wall?
Yes, on steel base plates: 5-1/8" x 5-1/8" for the 3-1/8" post, 4-3/4" x 3-7/8" or a plate with cover for the 2-3/4" x 2" post. Keep a fence on base plates to 63" tall for wind load.
Do composite slats need a brace?
Yes: a galvanized steel brace in every third solid composite slat and in every composite louver and openwork slat. Aluminum slats need none.
Does the post come with a cap?
The 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" post comes with one cap and one clip. The 2-3/4" x 2" post comes with one clip; order its cap separately.
Can Gardenode parts be combined with other fence systems?
Assume not. The grooves, clips and profiles are made for the Gardenode system, so order posts, slats and accessories from the same range.
