B-Safe safety cable that keeps the gate up if the hinges fail
Hinges can break, wear out or be damaged, and a falling gate is a serious hazard. The B-Safe cable connects the gate to the post as a backup, so the gate cannot fall if the hinges fail. It is a small part that protects people and property near heavy gates.
Strength
The B-Safe cable is rated up to 2,205 lb and stops gates of up to 1,102 lb from falling, even if both hinges fail at the same time. Locinox developed it to secure a gate in accordance with the gate standard EN 12604.
Installation
The cable is fixed into the gate and the post with the patented Quick-Fix fixing system, which gives an easy yet firm fixing without welding. The photos show it fitted close to the hinge between gate and post.
Compatibility
When correctly installed, the B-Safe protects all gates fitted with Locinox hinges. Follow the Locinox instructions for the position and fixing, because the protection depends on a correct installation.
