The latch post is the post the gate leaf closes against. It carries the lock keep and stop of the System Gate and gives the closed leaf a firm, precise end point. The 80 x 80 mm section is the all-round section for most garden and yard gates.
Materials and finish
The post is a square steel tube of 3-1/8" x 3-1/8"; ask Fenceweb for the wall thickness if your design depends on it. Every version is hot-dip galvanized, and the coated versions are also powder coated in moss green RAL 6005, fir green RAL 6009, anthracite gray RAL 7016 or black RAL 9005, so post, leaf and fence match.

Choose the section to suit the leaf: the wider and taller the leaf, the larger the post. Then choose the length from the gate height plus 2'.

Installation
