The SureClose Center Mount is an internally mounted, hydraulic gate hinge system from D&D Technologies. This page covers the non-safety models: hinge-closers that open to 180 degrees and self-close from 85 degrees, and plain hinges without a closer. They are specified for front, side, pedestrian, pet, privacy, security and commercial gates.
Operation
The hydraulics close the gate under control, which prevents gate slam noise and damage to the gate. The closers offer several adjustment options and are maintenance free. Final Snap models add a snap-close action at the end of the swing.
Sizes and fit
They are made for aluminum gates. D&D rates the hinge-closers for gates of up to 176 lb or up to 265 lb depending on the configuration, as set out in its load chart. The specification lists posts from 2-1/2" or 3" upwards.
Materials and fitting
The aluminum components have a 50 micron anodized finish for high corrosion resistance. Every model comes as screw-on or weld-on, and weld-on parts need no grinding before welding. Post mounting brackets are sold separately.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the version for pool gates?
No. These are the non-safety models, which open to 180 degrees. For pool and safety gates, D&D makes the SureClose Center Mount for Safety Gates, which will not hold open.
What is the difference between a hinge and a hinge-closer?
A hinge-closer has the hydraulic closer built in and closes the gate by itself. The plain hinge has no closer.
Do I need anything else to install it?
Yes. Post mounting brackets are sold separately and are needed to complete the installation.
