A child-safe latch for pool and park gates
The Fortima keeps young children out of pool areas and playgrounds. It only opens when the knob on top is pulled up, so pushing the knob down does nothing, and a strong magnet pulls the gate shut and holds it closed. A patented internal lever keeps the opening smooth.
Square or round posts
The Fortima comes in a version for square posts and a version for round posts, both with self-drilling screws. It fits metal, vinyl and wooden gates and adjusts fully in height and sideways after installation. Always check the safety requirements of your local authority before installing a pool gate latch.
Rekeyable to match your other locks
The latch takes a key-in-knob cylinder with a Schlage C keyway, which can be rekeyed to match the locks you already have. A spare or replacement cylinder is sold separately as the rekeyable KIK cylinder.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two versions?
One is made for square posts (FORTIMA-SD-K) and one for round posts (FORTIMA-SD-R). Both are the same latch with self-drilling screws.
Can a child open the Fortima?
The latch only opens when the knob on top is pulled up, and pushing it down does nothing. Mounted at the height your local code asks for, the knob is out of a small child's reach.
Can I key it to my other locks?
Yes. It takes a rekeyable key-in-knob cylinder with a Schlage C keyway, so it can be rekeyed to match your existing locks.
