Three kinds of steel fence panel
Every panel here is steel; the welded wire and Fortress panels are galvanized against rust. They differ in how they are built: welded wire mesh, dense 358 security mesh, or square tubing with pickets. Pick the kind first, then the height and strength.
Welded wire panels
- Double wire 4/6/4 GA: two 4 GA horizontal wires and a 6 GA vertical wire, for gardens and lighter commercial work.
- Double wire 0/4/0 GA: two 0 GA horizontal wires and a 4 GA vertical wire, a rigid panel for schools, business sites and secure boundaries.
- V-fence 6/6 GA: a single wire panel stiffened by V-shaped bends.
All three have a 2" x 8" mesh and are 8'2" wide. The double wire panels come in 4', 6' and 8' heights, hot-dip galvanized or powder coated black RAL 9005. The V-fence comes in 4', 6' and 8' heights, in black.
358 security panels
The 358 mesh has openings of 3" x 1/2", too small for fingers or toes, which makes the panel hard to climb and hard to cut. This category holds the Light (8/8 GA), Light Duo (8/8/8 GA) and Heavy Duo (8/4/8 GA) panels, in 4', 6', 8' and 10' heights. The Light panel is 8'3" wide and comes black or hot-dip galvanized; the Duo panels are black.
Ornamental steel panels
Fenceweb ornamental panels
Welded square tubing in black, sold per panel, in three grades:
- Residential: 1" rails and 5/8" pickets, flat top, 45" to 58" tall.
- Commercial: 1-1/2" rails and 3/4" pickets. Flat top from 34" to 70"; pressed point and curved pressed point from 70" to 93".
- Industrial: 2" rails and 1" pickets, 93" tall, with a flat top, pressed point or curved pressed point.
Fortress ornamental panels
Fortress panels are gloss black powder coat over pre-galvanized, e-coated steel, 2-rail or 3-rail, in several top styles.
- Versai and Versai Assurance: heights from 34" to 70". Versai panels pivot on a pin-hinge system, so a panel racks to follow a slope.
- V2 Commercial and V2 Commercial Assurance: heights from 34" to 94" on the 3-rail panels, in a 90-1/2" welded section.
- V3 Industrial: heights from 34" to 94", with 1" pickets.
- Titan Industrial: heights from 34" to 118", with a 14, 16 or 18 ga wall. The 3-rail, 14 ga panel also comes with the Shield top, pickets bent outward above the rails.
How to choose height and strength
- Set the height by the job: a low front fence, a 6 ft boundary, or a taller security line. Welded wire panels come 4', 6' and 8' high, and 358 panels also 10'.
- Choose the grade: residential and Versai for homes, commercial and V2 for busier sites, industrial, V3 and Titan where the fence takes the most.
- For security, choose 358 mesh, or an ornamental panel with a curved or Shield top that is harder to climb.
- Add the posts and brackets made for the panel line.
Posts and brackets for each panel
Welded wire panels hang on 2-3/8" round or square posts with Longlip brackets. The 358 panels mount on square posts with U-brackets, spider brackets and coverplates. Fenceweb ornamental panels fix to square posts with rail brackets sized for the rail. Fortress panels use the posts and brackets of their own line, linked on each product page.
