Composite Fence Boards
Composite fence boards are the slats of a Gardenode Equinox fence. They slide into grooved aluminum posts and stack into a screen. Choose solid slats for full privacy, louver slats that let air through, or openwork slats for a lighter look, and add a laser-cut aluminum decorative panel for an accent. Read more

Highlights

Solid slats
Twelve solid slats close a bay for full privacy.

Louver slats
Angled slats block the view but let the wind through.

Openwork slats
Spacers hold the slats 5/8" apart for a lighter screen.

No paint needed
Co-extruded slats carry a skin against UV, scratches and stains.
Board types: solid, louver and openwork
Every Equinox board is 70-7/8" long, the width of one bay between two posts.
Solid slats
The solid slat is 70-7/8" x 5-7/8" x 13/16". Twelve slats close a bay about 70-7/8" tall. Three finishes are available:
- Brushed, in Anthracite Gray or Quartz Gray.
- Wood grain, in Anthracite Gray.
- Co-extruded, in Graphite, Teak or Anthracite Gray, with a protective outer skin against UV, scratches and stains.
Louver slats
Co-extruded louver slats are angled, so air passes through the fence while the view stays blocked. That helps on windy sites. They come in Graphite, Teak or Anthracite Gray and are built up with louver spacers on a louver bottom rail.
Openwork slats
Co-extruded openwork slats are 3-3/8" or 5-3/8" wide and are held 5/8" apart by aluminum spacers. The gaps give a lighter, more open screen.
Decorative laser-cut panels
The laser-cut aluminum decorative panel measures 70-7/8" x 10-3/4" and replaces part of a bay with a pattern. Seven patterns are available: Azur, Brahmi, Crystal, Epure, Kadryl, Tropik and Verdi, powder coated in Anthracite Gray RAL 7016, Quartz Gray RAL 7039, Black RAL 9005 or Teak. Each panel needs a framing kit, sold separately, for horizontal or vertical fitting.
How boards fit in the posts
- Fit the bottom rail in the post grooves; use the louver bottom rail for louver slats.
- Hold the rail with at least two fixing blocks per bay, so the composite keeps its expansion gap.
- Slide the slats in tongue up, groove down, aligned by the serial number on the top edge.
- Close the bay with the top rail.
Steel braces for composite boards
Composite moves with heat and is heavier than aluminum. A galvanized steel slat brace slides into the hollow core and stops the slat sagging over the bay. Fit one in every third solid composite slat, and one in every composite louver and openwork slat.
How many boards per section
- Solid slats: twelve per bay of about 70-7/8" tall, plus four steel braces.
- Louver and openwork slats: count by the spacer pack for the bay, and one brace per slat.
- Decorative panel: one framing kit per panel.
Ordering and care
Where a board variant shows no price, it is sold on request: ask for a quote. Clean the fence once a year with a sponge and clean water, without a pressure washer. Fenceweb delivers to every US state and to Canada.
Frequently asked questions
How long are the composite fence boards?
All Equinox slats are 70-7/8" long, the width of one bay. The solid slat is 5-7/8" wide and 13/16" thick.
What is the difference between louver and openwork slats?
Louver slats are angled so air passes while the view stays blocked. Openwork slats are held 5/8" apart by spacers, which leaves visible gaps.
How many boards make one fence section?
Twelve solid slats close a bay about 70-7/8" tall. Louver and openwork bays are built with their spacer packs.
Do composite boards need a steel brace?
Yes. Fit a galvanized steel brace in every third solid composite slat and in every composite louver and openwork slat.
Do the boards fit other fence systems?
Assume not. The grooves and profiles are made for the Gardenode Equinox system, so use Equinox posts and accessories.
