The Gatemaster Superlatch extension kit SLDSE140 lets the Digital Superlatch code lock be fitted to gates thicker than 2-15/16", up to 5-1/2". The standard Superlatch fixings suit gates up to 2-15/16" thick; for anything thicker, this kit is needed.

Gatemaster Superlatch extension kit for gates up to 5-1/2" thick
The Gatemaster Digital Superlatch is supplied with fixings for gates up to 2-15/16" thick. For a thicker gate, the extension kit SLDSE140 makes the lock suitable for gates up to 5-1/2".
Compatibility
The kit is made for the Gatemaster Digital Superlatch, the surface-mounted mechanical code lock for timber and metal gates. It does not include the lock itself.
Installation
The Superlatch is fitted with two 3/8" holes at 5-1/8" centers and a third hole of 1/2" diameter, as described in the installation steps on this page. When fitting the outside keypad, use the extension kit where the gate is over 2-15/16" thick.

Installation
- 1Drill two 3/8" diameter holes at 5-1/8" centers in a vertical line (suggested position 2-1/4" from the edge of the gate)
- 2Drill a third hole, 1/2" in diameter, 47/64" above the bottom hole
- 3Fix the rubber gasket and outside keypad with the two M5 countersunk screws, placing the black domed washer under the top screw. The silver extension screws can be used for thicker gates, or the screws may need to be cut down for thinner ones. (Please note: for gates more than 3" thick you will need to order the extension kit, product code SLDSE140)
- 4Insert a rectangular spindle through the gate and fully into the keypad. The spindle should project between 3/8" and 19/32" from the inside face of the gate. The spindle can be cut if the supplied lengths do not fall within these tolerances
- 5Assemble the Superlatch backing plate, latch plate and shroud. The backing plate is reversible for left- and right-hand gates; make sure the latch travels vertically upwards and drops back down. A spring is supplied and we recommend fitting it so the latch always returns.
- 6Fit the lock assembly over the spindle and fix it with 4 screws.
- 7Fix the keep plate to the gate post so that it engages with the latch.
Maintenance
Every 6 months: take the keypads off the lock, spray the inside of the lock through the tumbler holes at the back with WD-40 or an equivalent, and spray the fixings and the latchbolt as well. Then press every button and turn the handle a few times to check that the lock still runs smoothly.

Will it survive outdoors all year?
It is built for it. The bodies are pressure die-cast and powder-coated, latchbolts are stainless steel and the keypads are marine grade, so salt air and rain are not a problem. Follow the maintenance schedule on this page - a spray of light oil a few times a year is what keeps a gate lock feeling new after a decade outside.
What warranty comes with this product?
Gatemaster gives a 5-year warranty on the Superlock 2.0 range and a manufacturer's warranty on the rest of the program, covering defects in material and workmanship. Keep your invoice: that is the proof of purchase a claim is assessed on. Damage from forcing, from the wrong installation or from missed maintenance is not covered - which is why the maintenance schedule on this page is worth following.
