The stainless steel gate restrainer is a safety feature that prevents gates falling in the event of hinge failure. This strong but simple device is essential for swing gates when there is potential for the gate to fail and cause fatal harm to pedestrians and property.
Simply drill a 1/2" hole into the gate and a matching 1/2" hole into the post, and slot the end stops of the gate restrainer through the holes. The plastic bushings then push into the holes to give a neat finish and to keep the wire from scratching the gate.

Installation
- 1Drill a 1/2" hole into the gate and into the post, 30 to 1-15/16" above or below the top hinge.
- 2Slot the 2 end stops into the holes and push the plastic bushes on. They protect the gate from scratches and let the wire slide in and out easily.

Will it survive outdoors all year?
It is built for it. The bodies are pressure die-cast and powder-coated, latchbolts are stainless steel and the keypads are marine grade, so salt air and rain are not a problem.
