Gatemaster Superlock 2.0 single-sided code lock with lever handles
This digital gate lock combines the convenience of a mechanical keypad with lever handles that are easier to operate for people with mobility issues, and with the easy installation of the Superlock range. It is the single-sided version: a keypad on the outside and a lever handle on the inside.
Security
The outer handle moves without engaging the latchbolt until the code is entered. That protects the mechanism if the handle is forced, and it stops the handle being used as a foothold to scale the gate. The latchbolt projects up to 13/16" into the gate post, which increases security and gives more tolerance. Certain features are protected under European Patent No. 3354825.
Durability and adjustment
A bolt support plate with a brass bearing helps the lock last, and the latchbolt can be adjusted in length. Close the gate and it latches; to open from outside, enter the code and turn the handle.
Sizes and installation
Versions are made for 3/8" to 1-3/16" and 1-9/16" to 2-3/8" gate frames, each left or right-handed, and the slim 2-3/4" case suits a variety of gate styles. To fit, drill two 3/8" holes at 5-1/2" centers for the fixing bolts and an 11/16" clearance hole for the latchbolt, then bolt the lock on and fix the strike plate to the gate post by welding or with screws.

Frequently asked questions
Will it survive outdoors all year?
It is built for it. The bodies are pressure die-cast and powder-coated, latchbolts are stainless steel and the keypads are marine grade, so salt air and rain are not a problem. Follow the maintenance schedule on this page - a spray of light oil a few times a year is what keeps a gate lock feeling new after a decade outside.
What warranty comes with this product?
Gatemaster gives a 5-year warranty on the Superlock 2.0 range and a manufacturer's warranty on the rest of the program, covering defects in material and workmanship. Keep your invoice: that is the proof of purchase a claim is assessed on. Damage from forcing, from the wrong installation or from missed maintenance is not covered - which is why the maintenance schedule on this page is worth following.
Is this in stock and how fast can I get it?
Gatemaster hardware is part of our standard program, so the common versions ship from stock. If you need a quantity for a project, or you are not sure which version fits your gate, ask us for a quote - we will check the frame size and handing with you before anything is picked.
Can I change the code myself?
Yes, and you do not need a locksmith. Take the keypad off the lock, open it up and reposition the code pins for the digits you want; the printed instructions in the box walk through it step by step. Set a code you will remember, then test it a few times with the gate open before you close it.
Does this code lock need power or batteries?
No. The keypad is fully mechanical, so there is no wiring, no batteries and nothing to replace. That is what makes it suitable for gates at the far end of a site, allotments, bin stores and anywhere a cable run would be impractical - and it keeps working in a power cut.
How do I know whether I need a left-hand or a right-hand lock?
Stand on the outside of the gate - the side you approach from. If the hinges are on your left, you need a left-hand lock; if they are on your right, a right-hand lock. Gatemaster locks in this range are reversible: you loosen the locking screw in the end of the latchbolt with the 1/8" hex key supplied, turn the bolt through 180 degrees and tighten it again.
Which version fits my gate frame?
Measure the depth of the gate frame, the box section or flat bar the lock bolts onto. Versions are made for 3/8" to 1-3/16" and 1-9/16" to 2-3/8" frames. Pick the version that matches your frame; a lock made for a deeper frame will not sit flush on a shallow one. The product codes are BDGSL1030L, BDGSL1030R, BDGSL4060L and BDGSL4060R.
