How many directions of adjustment?
2D adjusts height and side. 3D adds depth. 4D adds the tilt, which is what you need on a wide gate that has to stay level over 4 meters. GBMU4D is the workhorse for industrial gates; the swing hinges cover garden gates.
Weld-on or bolt-on
Weld-on hinges give the strongest joint on a steel gate and post. Bolt-on with Quick-Fix is the choice on aluminum, on a finished coating you do not want to burn, or when the gate has to come off again.
Hinge parts
Locinox sells the parts separately — eye bolts, ear plates, wall plates, weld nuts, claws, grips and gate plugs — so you can repair a hinge line rather than replace it.
