What does Gatemaster make?
Gatemaster makes locking hardware for gates: bolt-on, weld-in and surface-fixed locks, locks for sliding gates, mortise locks, gate closers, drop bolts, keeps, handles and the security parts and spares that go with them. Most of the range is built for the box section and flat bar that metal gates are made from, and part of it is made for wooden gates.
Fenceweb carries the range for contractors, gate fabricators, facility managers and homeowners. It suits communal gates at apartment buildings and schools, staff gates at utilities and data centers, and garden gates at home.
How do I choose a Gatemaster lock?
Three questions decide the lock:
- How does the gate move? A swing gate takes a standard lock; a sliding gate needs a sliding gate lock with latch arms or a hook that catch as the gate slides shut.
- How will the lock be fixed? Bolt-on locks go through drilled holes in an existing frame. Weld-in locks are welded into a new steel gate. Surface-fixed locks screw to the face of the gate, which suits wooden gates.
- Code or key? A code lock opens with a mechanical keypad and needs no keys and no power. A keyed lock opens with a key. Quick exit versions of both open from the inside with a push pad.
Then measure the frame. Most bolt-on locks come in two sizes, for frames of 3/8" to 1-3/16" and of 1-9/16" to 2-3/8". Weld-in locks are listed by frame width, and surface mounted code locks list the maximum gate thickness their fixings suit.
Code and digital gate locks
Code & Digital Gate Locks covers the keypad locks. The Superlock, Superlock 2.0, Superlatch and SelectPro code locks use mechanical keypads, so there are no batteries and no wiring. Choose a keypad on one side, with a handle inside, or on both sides. RapidReset versions let you change the code in about ten seconds without taking the lock off the gate, and quick exit versions have a push pad inside. Surface mounted versions are made for timber gates, with standard fixings for gates up to 2-15/16" thick.
Keyed gate locks
Keyed Gate Locks holds the Superlock and SelectPro bolt-on locks that open with a key: deadlocks, latch deadlocks that latch on closing and deadlock with the key, keylatches that lock every time the gate shuts, a long throw keylatch, and quick exit locks with key entry or with no outside access at all.
Sliding gate locks
Sliding Gate Locks are made for the sideways movement of a sliding gate: the latch arms catch in the keep as the gate slides closed. Choose a keypad on one or both sides, with or without RapidReset. The standard sliding gate code locks come for frames of 1-9/16", 2" and 2-3/8".
Weld-in, mortise and surface-fixed locks
Weld-In Gate Locks are welded into the gate frame for a flush finish with no bolts on the outside: deadlocks, latch deadlocks, long throw keylatches, hook locks and narrow locks for box section over 1-9/16" x 1-9/16", plus a weldable steel case for code locks. Mortise Gate Locks has two stainless steel locks with a dual or a full cover. Surface-Fixed Gate Locks has two screw-fixed locks, for gates up to 1" and up to 2-3/8" thick.
Gate closers and hinges
Gate Closers holds hydraulic gas-spring closers with bolt-on or weld-on brackets, and hydraulic closers built into a standard hinge or a stop hinge, which are rated for gates up to 330 lb. None of them need power. The Gate Hinges page covers the adjustable Superhinge and the stop hinge with bottom pivot; ask us about availability.
Drop bolts, keeps and handles
Drop Bolts holds surface fixed locking drop bolts, in galvanized steel or with a stainless steel bolt, and a concealed drop bolt that runs inside the gate frame. Gate Keeps holds the keeps the Superlock latchbolt locks into, including a gapless keep and a security keep with an interlocking tab. Handles has lever, traditional, knob, profiled and stainless steel handle pairs with a 5/16" square spindle, plus escutcheons and a security collar.
Security parts and spares
Security & Accessories covers the parts that protect and complete a lock: security shrouds that stop a quick exit pad or inside handle being worked from outside, a gate silencer kit and a bump stop, a maglock kit and an electric release for access control, gate restrainers, fixing and extension kits, a round bar adapter and a spare latchbolt. Because parts are sold separately, a worn part can be replaced instead of the whole lock.
Ordering and delivery
Fenceweb delivers to every US state and to Canada. Measure the frame before you choose a size, and check left or right hand where a lock is made in both. A size without a price on its product page is sold on request: ask for a quote.
