Secure - Features a 5/8" stainless steel latchbolt that extends 3/4" into the gate post Reliable - Supplied with a bolt guide plate and gate post strike plate for smooth and lasting operation Adaptable - Adjustable latchbolt length for precise and on-site fittings Ideal for gates requiring one-way access, as the angled latchbolt ensures the gate automatically latches shut upon closing Security shroud available to prevent access to the pad from the outside

This bolt-on lock is designed for gates that should only be opened from the inside. The angled latchbolt makes the gate latch shut automatically on closing, and the push pad on the inside lets people out quickly. The outside face of the lock is plain, with no handle or keypad.

Security

A 5/8" stainless steel latchbolt extends 13/16" into the gate post. A security shroud is available to stop anyone reaching round to the pad from outside, and the lock is compatible with the Superlock Gapless Keep for extra security and protection. Certain features of this product are protected under European Patent No. 3354825.

Sizes and handing

The lock comes for 3/8" to 1-3/16" and 1-9/16" to 2-3/8" gate frames, each in a left-hand and a right-hand version. The latchbolt length is adjustable for precise fitting on site.

Installation

Drill two 3/8" holes at 3-5/8" centers for the M8 fixing bolts supplied and an 11/16" clearance hole for the latchbolt, then fit the strike plate to the gate post by welding or screwing it on.

Frequently asked questions

Will it survive outdoors all year?

It is built for it. The bodies are pressure die-cast and powder-coated, latchbolts are stainless steel and the keypads are marine grade, so salt air and rain are not a problem. Follow the maintenance schedule on this page - a spray of light oil a few times a year is what keeps a gate lock feeling new after a decade outside.

What warranty comes with this product?

Gatemaster gives a 5-year warranty on the Superlock 2.0 range and a manufacturer's warranty on the rest of the program, covering defects in material and workmanship. Keep your invoice: that is the proof of purchase a claim is assessed on. Damage from forcing, from the wrong installation or from missed maintenance is not covered - which is why the maintenance schedule on this page is worth following.

Is this in stock and how fast can I get it?

Gatemaster hardware is part of our standard program, so the common versions ship from stock. If you need a quantity for a project, or you are not sure which version fits your gate, ask us for a quote - we will check the frame size and handing with you before anything is picked.

Can someone reach over the gate and press the pad?

On some gates they could. The SelectPro quick exit security shroud is available to prevent access to the pad from the outside.
