Gatemaster | Sliding Gate Code Lock | Double-Sided Keypad

Strong gate lock designed especially for sliding gates; this is the double-sided version, with combination keypads on both sides of the lock. The sliding gate lock latches into the keep automatically when the gate is slid closed and stays secure until the code is entered. The one-piece die-cast casing holds the complete locking mechanism and gives maximum protection against the elements. The lock is easy to install: drill just three holes through the gate frame and bolt on the lock. Please note that a 3-15/16" gap behind the stile is required to fit the lock (see the spec sheet for full installation instructions).

Maintenance
Every 6 months: take the keypads off the lock, spray the inside of the lock through the tumbler holes at the back with WD-40 or an equivalent, and spray the fixings and the latchbolt as well. Then press every button and turn the handle a few times to check that the lock still runs smoothly.

Frequently asked questions
Will it survive outdoors all year?
It is built for it. The bodies are pressure die-cast and powder-coated, latchbolts are stainless steel and the keypads are marine grade, so salt air and rain are not a problem. Follow the maintenance schedule on this page - a spray of light oil a few times a year is what keeps a gate lock feeling new after a decade outside.
What warranty comes with this product?
Gatemaster gives a 5-year warranty on the Superlock 2.0 range and a manufacturer's warranty on the rest of the program, covering defects in material and workmanship. Keep your invoice: that is the proof of purchase a claim is assessed on. Damage from forcing, from the wrong installation or from missed maintenance is not covered - which is why the maintenance schedule on this page is worth following.
Is this in stock and how fast can I get it?
Gatemaster hardware is part of our standard program, so the common versions ship from stock. If you need a quantity for a project, or you are not sure which version fits your gate, ask us for a quote - we will check the frame size and handing with you before anything is picked.
Can I change the code myself?
Yes, and you do not need a locksmith. Take the keypad off the lock, open it up and reposition the code pins for the digits you want; the printed instructions in the box walk through it step by step. Set a code you will remember, then test it a few times with the gate open before you close it.
Does this code lock need power or batteries?
No. The keypad is fully mechanical, so there is no wiring, no batteries and nothing to replace. That is what makes it suitable for gates at the far end of a site, allotments, bin stores and anywhere a cable run would be impractical - and it keeps working in a power cut.
How do I know whether I need a left-hand or a right-hand lock?
Stand on the outside of the gate - the side you approach from. If the hinges are on your left, you need a left-hand lock; if they are on your right, a right-hand lock. Gatemaster locks in this range are reversible: you loosen the locking screw in the end of the latchbolt with the 0.118" hex key supplied, turn the bolt through 180 degrees and tighten it again.
