Gatemaster | Concealed Drop Bolt
The Gatemaster concealed drop bolt secures single or double gates with a vertical bolt hidden inside the gate frame, where it cannot be tampered with. It fits any box section bigger than 1-3/16" x 1-3/16" and is joined with M10 studding cut to suit the gate.

Gatemaster concealed drop bolt, hidden inside the gate frame
This is a very neat drop bolt that fits into either single or double gates. Because the bolt runs inside the gate frame, it is protected from tampering and suits a wide range of gate sizes and styles without looking out of place.
Single and double gates
Two versions are available: CDS for a single gate and CDD for double gates. On the double gate version, the drop bolt is lowered, rotated and locked in position, and closing the second gate prevents the drop bolt being unlocked.
Sizes and fit
The drop bolt fits into any box section bigger than 1-3/16" x 1-3/16". It is assembled with M10 studding, which is cut to length so the same kit can be used on a variety of gate sizes. The studding is not supplied.
Installation
Cut the corner of the gate frame so the two parts of the square box section supplied fit in. Fit the slotted section where you want to operate the drop bolt and the other section at the bottom of the gate, then join them with M10 studding.

Installation

Frequently asked questions
Will it survive outdoors all year?
It is built for it. The bodies are pressure die-cast and powder-coated, latchbolts are stainless steel and the keypads are marine grade, so salt air and rain are not a problem. Follow the maintenance schedule on this page - a spray of light oil a few times a year is what keeps a gate lock feeling new after a decade outside.
What warranty comes with this product?
Gatemaster gives a 5-year warranty on the Superlock 2.0 range and a manufacturer's warranty on the rest of the program, covering defects in material and workmanship. Keep your invoice: that is the proof of purchase a claim is assessed on. Damage from forcing, from the wrong installation or from missed maintenance is not covered - which is why the maintenance schedule on this page is worth following.
Is this in stock and how fast can I get it?
Gatemaster hardware is part of our standard program, so the common versions ship from stock. If you need a quantity for a project, or you are not sure which version fits your gate, ask us for a quote - we will check the frame size and handing with you before anything is picked.
Is the studding included?
No. The kit is joined with a length of M10 studding, which you cut to suit the height of your gate. The studding is not supplied.
