Face mount hinges sit on the face of the gate and post, which lets the gate open to a full 180 degrees for the best opening angle. D&D Technologies makes the face mount BadAss as this weld-on model and as a bolt-on model.
Materials and operation
The hinge uses maintenance-free, high temperature sealed bearings that are safe to powder coat with the hinges installed on the gate. Zinc electroplating gives long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion. D&D has tested Shut It hinges to over 1 million open and close cycles and gives a limited lifetime warranty.
Sizes and fit
The hinge is horizontally adjustable by 13 mm for a precise installation and to allow proper gate movement, and that adjustment makes gate gaps as small as 13 mm possible. D&D rates it at a load of 900 kg per gate. It suits square posts of 38 mm and up.
Installation
The hinge is welded to the gate and post. It is specified for pedestrian, pet, privacy, security and commercial gates and is not self-closing.
